Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Scope of the Journal

The Southeast Asian Journal of Advance Engineering and Technology (SEAJAET) publishes high-quality original research and review articles in the field of engineering and technology. Submissions should present new contributions, technical rigor, and relevance to the academic and professional community.

Types of Manuscripts

  • Original Research – Full-length article reporting significant original research results. (6–15 pages).
  • Review Article – Critical, constructive, and comprehensive overview of existing research on a specific topic. (8–20 pages).
  • Short Communication – Concise articles reporting novel findings or preliminary results (3–6 pages).
  • Editorial – Written by editor(s) or invited expert, discussing issues relevant to the journal’s scope.
  • Case Study – Detailed analysis of a particular case, practice, or project with practical implications.
  • Methodology / Method – Articles describing new or improved research methods, techniques, or tools.
  • Commentary – Perspective or opinion on a current issue, article, or trend in the field.
  • Book Review – Critical evaluation of a recently published academic book relevant to the journal’s scope.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should follow instruction and structure in article template

Figures, Tables, and Equations

  • Figures: Clear, ≥300 dpi, captions below figure (center aligned).
  • Tables: Editable (not images), captions above table (center aligned).
  • Equations: Created with Equation Editor, numbered consecutively (1), (2), … flush right.
  • Define symbols and units immediately after equations.

Abbreviations and Acronyms

  • Define on first mention in the manuscript, even if defined in the abstract.
  • Avoid abbreviations in the title unless unavoidable.

Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the SEAJAET Online Journal System (OJS).
  • Only manuscripts prepared using the official template will be considered.
  • Authors must confirm that the manuscript is original and not under review elsewhere.

Peer Review Policy

  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
  • Review criteria: originality, significance, methodology, clarity, ethical compliance.
  • Authors may be asked to revise based on reviewer/editor comments.

Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts will be checked for plagiarism.
  • Research involving humans/animals must declare ethical approval.
  • Misconduct (plagiarism, data fabrication, redundant publication) will lead to rejection.
